The Estate Planning Council of Central PA is pleased to partner with the FPA of Central PA to host THEODORE T. KURLOWICZ JD, LLM, CAP®, ChFC®, CLU®, AEP American College Professor of Taxation Charles E. Drimal Professor of Estate Planning.

Mr. Kurlowicz will present an in depth discussion of Inheritance and Estate Tax at the Federal level.

Vance Antonacci will share real life stories regarding Pennsylvania Inheritance and Estate Tax.

Vicki Haake will share information on Estate Planning and Gifting Strategies for Charitable organizations.

Applications have been submitted for 3.0 Continuing Education Credits for PA Insurance, CFP, CTFA, CPA and PA Bar.

Theodore “Ted” Kurlowicz is the Charles E. Drimal Professor of Estate Planning at The American College of Financial Services, where he teaches and prepares text materials and courses in estate planning and planning for business owners and professionals. He also is an adjunct associate professor at Widener University in the Master of Science in Taxation and Financial Planning Program. For several years, he was the coordinator of a bimonthly column, "Focus on Financial Planning," published in Best's Review/Life & Health Edition. He published a client tax and estate-planning newsletter franchised by many life underwriters and financial planners for 25 years. He also has participated in developing state insurance agent licensing examinations for numerous states, and he is a frequent speaker at professional associations. Professor Kurlowicz co-authored a book published by McGraw Hill, Can You Afford to Retire? He also authored Planning for Business Owners and Professionals and Estate Planning Applications. He was a contributing author to McGill's Life Insurance and several books published by The American College of Financial Services, including Financial Planning for the New Century, Fundamentals of Financial Planning, The Federal Income Tax Law, Financial Services Professional’s Guide to the State of the Art, and Financial Planning 2000. Professor Kurlowicz has appeared on NBC Nightly News; Your Money, a Business News Broadcast on CNN; The Financial Advisers, a business and financial planning program on PBS; and several segments of Money Matters, a financial planning feature of Nation's Business Today. Professor Kurlowicz is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Connecticut; his Master of Arts degree from the University of Pennsylvania; his Juris Doctorate from the Delaware Law School, where he was a member of the editorial staff of the Law Review; and his Master of Laws (LLM) degree in taxation from Villanova University School of Law. He holds the Chartered Life Underwriter® (CLU®), Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®), Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy® (CAP®), and Accredited Estate Planner (AEP) designations. He was admitted to the Estate Planning Hall of Fame in 2008.

Vance Antonacci chairs the Estate Planning practice group and concentrates his practice in the areas of estate planning, business succession planning, and estate and trust administration. He represents business owners, executives, professionals, and other individuals in all phases of estate planning, including the preparation of wills, various types of trust agreements, charitable planning, and family limited partnerships. Vance is a trusted advisor to multiple generations of families and their businesses and frequently provides advice on buy-sell agreements and the structuring of business transactions such as asset sales, stock sales, and mergers. Vance is a frequent speaker and author on estate planning and related topics. He is active in the Lancaster community. He has served on various charitable boards and committees, and he currently is a member of the Development Committee of the Lancaster General Health Foundation. Vance has been recognized in Central Pennsylvania's Forty Under 40, 2013; Pennsylvania Rising Stars®, 2007-present, Select Lawyers, 2014 and Readers’ Choice Award, 2016.

Vicki Haake, CGPA, Director of Estate and Gift Planning, American Cancer Society. Vicki is passionate about the Society’s mission. Her goal is to help concerned supporters reach their philanthropic and personal goals by providing planned giving options to them and their professional advisors. Vicki is a graduate of York College of Pennsylvania and earned her Paralegal Certification from Penn State University. She also earned the designation of Certified Gift Planning Associate from Crescendo and has been on staff at the Society since 1997. Vicki is currently on the Board of the Financial Planning Association, the Central Pennsylvania Estate Planning Council, and the York County Estate Planning Council. She is a member of the Hershey Rotary Club and a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Hummelstown where she assisted with their planned giving program. Vicki lives in Palmyra, PA with her husband. When she is not working, she enjoys ballroom dancing, camping, traveling, and motorcycle riding. Vicki has two daughters and one grandson.
